libpam-runtime software package provides Runtime support for the PAM library, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libpam-runtime
libpam-runtime is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libpam-runtime package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libpam-runtime *
You will get with libpam-runtime package name, version, architecture and description in a table
